SUMMARY:Painting Techniques with Larry Ferguson
DESCRIPTION:When: Friday and Saturday\, July 21 and 22\, 9am – 3pm\nWhat:
This workshop is designed for intermediate and advanced artists (working
in any art medium) and is definitely unlike most traditional art workshops
! Rather than having the goal of a completed work of art\, the emphasis wi
ll be on individual development\, experimentation\, problem-solving and th
e examination of expressive elements.\nStudents will be expected to develo
p\, in discussion with the instructor\, an individual challenge(s) that wi
ll push their current talent\, skill and experience to a new level. They w
ill also develop a plan(s) to meet those challenges.\nChallenges can be in
the areas of\, but not limited to\, composition/design\, expression\, exp
erimentation\, unity\, color or emphasis. They may also include the use of
art materials if the use of those chosen materials push the student beyon
d his/her comfort level.\nThe goal is artistic growth and individual explo
ration with students working in the media of their choice.\nCost: $99 per
person\nRegister: Call the Valley Art Center at 509-758-8331\nInstructor
