Watercolor Secrets Revealed with Tom Lynch
When: Tuesday through Friday, September 25-28
What: Tom’s objective is to show the vast range and flexibility of watercolor. You will learn new techniques; how to plan for success; build a successful painting; and to put drama, emotion, and conviction into your art. This award winning artist will show you how to push the limits of color, contrast, and light. Tom likes to put fun into the process of painting. He has an organized program, with lots of visuals, that sets a goal for each day and sees that each student has an example and understanding of that day’s lesson. You will see daily demonstrations with detailed explanations of all the how’s and why’s, followed by plenty of individual attention, and a positive critique session. 1. Your own paints and supplies.
2. Five tubes of Holbein watercolor paints:
*Opera
*Perm Yellow Lemon
*Peacock Blue
*Royal Blue
*Perm Green #1
3. (8) – “DOT” Spray Bottles. (Not fine mist bottles). Difficult to find will have at workshop

4. Gemini Paper: Mark which side is the top before you cut it. (Read embossed word “Gemini”)
a. (8) – eight ¼ sheets 140# cold press
b. (3) – ½ sheets 300# cold press
“I know all workshop teachers have their ‘favorite supplies’; but with me there are unique reasons I choose to use specific items to create my paintings. If you want to travel light or can’t find particular items (like the “dot” spray bottles), having them available at class will take out all the worry for you… making your workshop experience ‘hassle free’!”

The Valley Art Center would love to have you sign up early, as class sizes are restricted by each instructor. $50 nonrefundable deposit will hold your spot in a workshop, and, if needed, a payment schedule may be applied.
